It's your responsibility to make sure that the venue is registered or approved for wedding ceremonies. If the venue’s not on the list then you won’t be able to hold your ceremony there.

Barnsley Register Office - Please note that attendance is restricted to the couple and two witnesses only. Children of any age cannot attend. Please book The Ceremony Suite if you wish to include additional guests.

Notice of marriage

Please note that this booking is only the first step and doesn’t guarantee that your ceremony will take place. Your ceremony can only take place once you've both given notice of marriage or civil partnership in the district where you live, at least 29 days before your ceremony date.
If you are a foreign national (ie: not a British or Irish citizen) you must contact your local register office.
